Cardiff shop Keeper calls for donations

Cardiff based Fashionista Linzie Elliott owner of Eagle Eye Vintage on Womanby Street Cardiff and her close friend Fiona Byrne, have setup a suitcase in Linzie’s shop allowing people to donate sanitary goods which can be given to homeless women.

The Shonk first got wind of this when Linzie posted on the popular social media website:

It wasn’t until I read about the recent campaign ‘the homeless period‘ that I realised it hadn’t even crossed my mind before…I felt like a complete idiot and was really cross with myself. How ignorant of me. When that time of the month comes it hits me like a ton of bricks, but I am lucky enough to have access to a loo, be able to run myself a hot bath and get snuggled up in my bed with tea and chocolate…something a homeless woman doesn’t have the pleasure of.

In aid of this campaign, Fiona Byrne and I have decided to collect sanitary protection to pass on to the local homeless shelters. If you’re in Cardiff and would like to donate, please pass on your products onto us over the next two weeks. We will make sure they get to where they need to be. If you don’t live in Cardiff, be a gem and make it happen where you are…

Thank you.
Peace, love & happier periods x

The Homeless Period scheme has been setup to help give women access to sanitary goods. The scheme is also campaigning to see shelters and health centres distribute sanitary goods to the homeless for free.

So if you happen to live in or around Cardiff and you can spare some sanitary items please take them to Eagle Eye Vintage at The Castle Emporium on Womanby Street Cardiff.
